My name is Chad Bailey. For most of my life, I’ve lived in Warrick County. For
the last eight years I‘ve been in law enforcement. Before then, I was a member
of the Indiana National Guard. In 2003 I worked as a Jailer for the Vanderburgh
County Sheriff’s Office. Later that same year I worked for the Oakland City
Police Department as a Patrolman. Today I work as a K-9 handler for the Newburgh
Police Department. I have worked with the Newburgh Police Department for the
past 5 yrs. My partner, Rex, is a 4 year old German Shepherd. He is a dual

apprehension. My training consists of being an ILEA (Indiana Law Enforcement
Academy) graduate in 2004, a graduate of Police Motorcycle School in 2006, and a
K-9 handler in 2007. I am also a primary instructor for the Indiana Law
Enforcement Academy, and teach all of our officer’s physical tactics. I am also

Other than my family, one of my most memorable accomplishments is receiving a
Merit Award from the American Red Cross for saving a life in 2002. This Merit
Award was signed by the President of the United States. Working as a Police
Officer in the community I grew up in, has been very rewarding and is something
I take pride in doing. Aside from spending time with my family, my hobbies are
mixed martial arts, motorcycle riding, and boating. Finally, I would add that I
look forward to serving the citizens of Newburgh and Warrick County for many
